This really is the best meatloaf recipe, it’s easy to make and tastes delicious! I think the secret to very good meatloaf is using a leaner ground beef.  I've tried making this recipe with different ground beefs and the ones with a high fat content become a greasy mess as the meatloaf cooks.  Not this recipe though, give it a try, you'll love it!

INGREDIENTS:

Meatloaf Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs of lean ground beef

  • 1 onion (finely chopped)

  • 2 eggs

  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)

  • 4 tablespoons of ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon of oregano

  • 3/4 cup Panko breadcrumbs

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika

Meatloaf Sauce Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of ketchup

  • 2 teaspoons of white vinegar

  • 3 tablespoons of brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper

  • 1/3 teaspoon of salt

STEPS:

  1. Lightly spray cooking oil to the bottom of a casserole dish/baking pan and preheat the oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large bowl, add all of the meatloaf ingredients. Mix very well to combine. (I like to use my hands)

  3. Add the meat mixture to the prepared dish/pan and  gently press the meat down and try to shape it as evenly as possible.

  4. Bake the meatloaf at 375˚F for 45 minutes.

  5. In a small bowl, mix all of the sauce ingredients together.

  6. After the meatloaf has been cooking for 45 minutes, spread the sauce over meatloaf, and then return it to the oven and bake for an extra 15 minutes.

  7. When you slice into your delicious meatloaf, be sure to drizzle it with the delicious baking juices from the pan!

  8. Bon appétit!
