My Favorite Sushi in Kingston, ON
Sapporo Sushi used to be amongst the limited number of sushi restaurants in proximity of Kingston, when I first moved here. The quaint restaurant provides a modern, yet authentic, take on Japanese Cuisine, as well as delicious Korean dishes. The food is most definitely the best available sushi in the area. In my eyes, Mark is the pioneer sushi chef in this town. He trained many of the others who have since branched out and went on to open their own restaurants. Now, the market seems rather saturated, and the competition is fierce, however, Sapporo is a top competitor.
The Setting: The layout of the restaurant follows a wooden scheme with traditional Japanese décor, including plants, porcelain sculptures, and bamboo. The dishes (plates and bamboo slabs) give the customer the sense that they are receiving what they paid for.
The Food: Most ordered dishes are accompanied by a classic Miso soup and a house salad topped with a delicious homemade dressing. In accordance with Japanese tradition, the food is served as the dishes are completed. Sushi lovers cannot go wrong with any sushi roll or sashimi order. The fish is amazingly fresh and is of high-quality. Non-sushi costumers can enjoy an exquisite Chicken Teriyaki, amongst many other delicious recipes.
Tasty raw fish in YGK
This fall was my first time ordering from K-Pop SubSushi, and I needed to write to tell you that you must try it! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food. I’ve really been missing Poke, and their “Luxurious bowl sushi” is the closest thing to it, that I have found so far, in Kingston! And the sushi burrito.. It was fire!! The service I received was so amazing and I will definitely be back again. They made me feel welcomed and gave me an amazing experience.
Divine noodle dishes
Aspara Angkor has my absolute favorite street noodles. Get it with the beef for an even tastier treat. The stir fried glass noodle are also amazing. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Servers are also great and always efficient and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Kingston. The lunch deals come with a soup & spring roll, and are priced just right!
