Looking for a fun and easy Halloween treat that takes just a few ingredients? These chocolate-covered strawberry witch brooms are such a cute addition to your Halloween celebrations, and they’re simple enough for the kids to help make.

I added one candy eye to each broom to give them a little ghoulish personality. They look like tiny Halloween creatures, with a sweet chocolate covered strawberry broom head, a crunchy pretzel handle.

These are perfect for Halloween parties, classroom treats or a fun afternoon in the kitchen with the kids. You don’t need any special equipment or baking skills, and they come together with very little effort.

The best part is that you can have fun decorating each one and giving them their own little personality. They’re sweet, crunchy, fruity and just spooky enough for Halloween! Give my recipe a try and see how these little ghoulish brooms turn out!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 12 large strawberries

  • 12 pretzel sticks

  • 1 cup chocolate chips, plus extra if needed

  • 12 small candy eyes

STEPS:

  1. Wash the strawberries and pat them completely dry with paper towel. Cut off the leafy tops to create a flat surface.

  2. Turn each strawberry upside down so the pointed end faces up.

  3. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 20 to 30 second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth.

  4. Gently insert a pretzel stick into the flat end of each strawberry to create the broom handle.

  5. Dip the flat end of each strawberry into the melted chocolate and place it on a silicone baking mat. Allow the chocolate to begin setting.

  6. I rubbed a small straw brush on the sides of each strawberry to create the broom bristles.

  7. While the chocolate is still slightly soft, add one candy eye to each strawberry. If the chocolate has already set, use a tiny dab of melted chocolate to attach the eye. Let the chocolate set completely before serving.

  8. Bon appétit! Enjoy!
