S’mores Cones

Updated: Jun 5, 2022

If you like S’mores, you need to try this recipe! The classic campfire treat, is just as deliciously gooey but so much less messy. These are a super fun twist on the classic S’mores. We were cooking some chicken in the smoker, and I was craving s’mores. Sadly, I didn’t have any graham crackers. I searched the pantry for an alternative and found waffle cones. So I thought, let’s get creative! These S’mores Cones can be wrapped in foil and placed in the smoker or even baked in the oven. I tried both wrapped in foil and unwrapped, to get the smokey fire flavour. I preferred the ones that were not wrapped in foil. Either way, they’re delicious. You can assemble them ahead of time or have everyone create their own.

I made basic ones today, but I’m already planning for the next ones and all the ingredients I want to load them with! What am I planning to put inside? I’m thinking of graham cracker pieces (for extra S’more flavor), M&Ms, mini peanut butter cups, caramilk...even some chunks of banana, strawberry slices, peanut butter M&Ms, peanut butter chips...I really could keep listing yummy ingredients all day long!

I‘m sharing a basic recipe using chocolate chips and marshmallows, but the possibilities are endless!

*We later ordered an ice cream cone holder stand that made things even easier!

INGREDIENTS:

  • waffle cones

  • marshmallows

  • chocolate chips

  • Optional toppings: M&Ms, peanut butter cups (any chocolate/chocolate bar you like!), bananas, strawberries, graham crackers, butterscotch chips, nuts...anything your heart desires!

  • foil (or ice cream cone holder stand)

STEPS:

  1. Layer desired waffle cones with toppings and wrap in foil. Alternatively, you could build a makeshift ice cream cone holder with your foil (pictures below). Place in the fire for 5-7 minutes or until everything is nice and melted. They can also be baked in the oven at 400F for 5-7 minutes.

  2. Bon appétit!
