There are desserts that are good… and then there are desserts that disappear before you can blink. This is one of those recipes. It starts off simple, just a boxed chocolate cake mix, but the magic happens in the middle. As it bakes, a creamy peanut butter filling melts into the chocolate, creating pockets of sweetness that feel like you worked way harder than you actually did.
I love recipes that come together in minutes but taste like they took all afternoon. This one checks every box: easy, nostalgic, indulgent, and guaranteed to impress anyone who tries it. If you’re bringing dessert to a family get-together, school event, or hosting friends, this is the cake that makes people say, “Can I have the recipe?” And trust me, you’ll want to keep this one bookmarked.
If you love chocolate and peanut butter together (and honestly… who doesn’t?!), this dessert is going to become your new go-to. Perfect for busy weeknights, potlucks, or anytime you want a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Give my recipe a try, you’ll love it!
INGREDIENTS:
1 box of chocolate fudge cake mix
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
3 large eggs
1 cup of smooth peanut butter
1 cup of powdered sugar
1/2 cup of Reese’s Pieces
1 cup of mini chocolate chips
STEPS:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Prepare the cake batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs until smooth and well combined.
Pour half of the batter into your prepared baking dish.
Make the filling: In a separate bowl, stir the peanut butter and powdered sugar together until creamy. Drop spoonfuls of this mixture all over the batter, don’t worry about being perfect!
Cover with the remaining cake batter, gently spreading it to the edges.
Sprinkle the Reese’s Pieces and mini chocolate chips evenly on top.
Bake for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (a little gooey from the filling is fine!).
Cool completely before slicing… if your family can wait that long.
Bon appétit! Enjoy!
