This tender and juicy air fryer salmon steaks recipe is not only easy to make but it’s also packed with amazing flavors! It has a tasty marinade that adds a rich flavor to this fantastic salmon recipe. Cooking the marinated salmon in the air fryer really seals in all the delicious flavors and keeps the fish moist on the inside, while crisping the skin on the outside.
I've always made salmon steaks in the oven, but today I decided why not try to make them in the air fryer, and boy am I so glad I did! The salmon steaks came out juicy, flavorful, and it was so much easier to make than salmon in the smoker or on the grill or even in the oven! Using the air fryer minimizes clean-up, and even allows you to save on energy.
Salmon Steaks are a delicious and healthy protein, and with my recipe, they’re elevated to restaurant quality fish in just 20 minutes! The prep is quite simple and the steps are so easy that you can make a lunch/dinner that is perfect for any occasion, quickly.
And in case you're thinking “Houri, salmon fillets are a much better cut of fish” I love both the look and flavor of salmon steaks. I find them to be easier to cook and they stay moist thanks to the skin and bones, much like other cuts of meat. Give my recipe a try, you’ll love it!
2 salmon steaks (around 10 oz. each)
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
1 lemon, juice
Salt and pepper to taste
In a small bowl combine the brown sugar, oil, soy sauce, garlic, and lemon juice. Set aside
Pat dry the salmon steaks on both sides and place them in a medium bowl. Season each side with some salt & pepper. Pour the delicious marinade over them and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Place the salmon steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook to 200ºC/392ºF for 10 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature of the fish reaches 60ºC/140ºF. Remove the salmon steaks from the air fryer basket and serve.
