One Pot Deliciously Creamy Ground Chicken Recipe

This one pot ground chicken dish is absolutely perfect for those busy weeknight dinners. It comes together so easily and quickly, and tastes divine.


Ground chicken paires so well with onions and garlic, creamy sour cream, and best of all spicy cheese!


Comfort food comes in all forms, and for me, growing up in a Persian home it was always rice. I have since realized that pasta is the ultimate comfort food! I grew up in a household where my family wasn’t a big pasta fan, so we rarely ate it.


This dish is literally comfort in a bowl. It’s packed full of amazing flavours. Trust me, if you’re looking for the perfect one pot pasta dish this is the recipe for you, give it a try, you’ll love it!



INGREDIENTS:


  • 1 pound of lean ground chicken

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic (5 small cloves)

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1/3 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/3 teaspoon of black pepper

  • 1 & 1/2 cup of marinara sauce (or pasta sauce)

  • 1 & 1/4 cup of water

  • 5 tablespoons of fat free sour cream

  • 1/4 cup minced cilantro

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella & cheddar cheese (I use Montreal steak spice seasoned blend)




STEPS:


  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. When the oil is hot, add in the ground chicken, onion and garlic.

  3. Add in the smoked paprika, salt and pepper.

  4. Cook until the meat is fully cooked (no longer pink).

  5. Pour in the marinara sauce and water (I mix the water into the marinara). Stir well.

  6. Add in the sour cream and cilantro. Mix well.

  7. Add in the cheese.

  8. Add the delicious mixture to the pasta or rice of your choice and enjoy!
