Easy Homemade Strawberry Fruit Roll Ups

This homemade strawberry fruit rollup recipe is so easy and tasty! I grew up eating fruit rollups and haven’t been able to find any that taste as good as the ones from back in the day. This recipe is amazing, they turn out delicious and make me feel nostalgic. Truly a natural way to enjoy a better version of one of my favourite childhood snack! The best part: you only need three ingredients!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 heaping cup of strawberries (cut up)

  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

  • 1 tablespoon of sugar (you could easily substitute it for honey)

STEPS:

  1. Place the cut up strawberries, lemon juice and sugar in a blender/food processor and purée them for 30 seconds, until completely smooth.

  2. Transfer the purée to a saucepan. Turn the heat to medium high, and cook the mixture for about 5 minutes, constantly stirring, until the mixture is thick and has a jam like consistency. It’s best to cook out as much of the moisture as possible.

  3. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees F.

  4. Spread the strawberry paste into a rectangle shape onto a baking pan lined with a silicone baking mat. Using a spoon or spatula, spread the mixture as evenly as possible, until the rectangle is about 1/8 inch thick. It will lose some of its thickness in the oven as it dehydrates, so make sure that none of the spots are too thin/ see-through.

  5. Cook in the oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the fruit mixture is no longer sticky.

  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely. (I could never wait for mine to cool, too tasty!) Once it’s cooled, use kitchen scissors or pizza cutter to cut them into strips.

  7. Bon appétit!
